RESEARCH
Always in the perspective of going further in the patient partnership and advancing research in donation and transplantation, you will find in this section all the sub-studies related to the Projet Laurent.

Mental health and healthy lifestyle habits
As a member of the Laurent Project, the Doré lab is deter-mined to untangle the relation-ships between mental health, healthy lifestyle habits and pets, both in immunocom-promised individuals and their loved ones. We firmly believe that the results and recommendations that will result from this project will allow all health stakeholders, patients and their loved ones to make informed choices for the physical and psychological well-being of immunocompromised individuals.

Zoonoses: screening and surveillance
The Prada Lab explores three critical aspects of animal-borne diseases (zoonoses): detecting asymptomatic infections, differentiating sources of infections, and monitoring intestinal parasites in companion animals in Canada. Through this research, we hope to make a substantial con-tribution to the global effort to control zoonotic diseases, ultimately improving human and animal health while preserving our shared envi-ronment.

Immunosuppression and zoonoses
To fill the glaring knowledge gap highlighted by the Laurent project's patient partners, the Dieudé lab is working hard to elucidate the interactions between zoonotic agents and the immune system in a state of immuno- suppression. This contribution of knowledge could serve as a basis for the development of preventive and therapeutic interventions for the vulnerable population that is immunosuppressed patients. This knowledge will also help pet owners make informed choices regarding their health and that of their pets.

Risk reduction throught training
The main objective of the Desmarchelier lab is to develop a training protocol for pet dogs to reduce risky behaviors in animals. The impact of a diagnosis on the well-being of pets will also be evaluated, as will the impact of the training program.
